GMC is introducing a new member to its full sized pickup truck family. The wait for the 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 is over. The truck is available in SLT and Denali trim levels however the details about the whole range of trims are not available yet according to the San Diego GMC dealer.
Also the details about the specifications like engine, torque, horsepower and towing and payload capacity are not available yet however as per the announcement the truck has a pair of V8 engine with turbodiesel 6 cylinder. The truck will not be going on sale until the end of 2018 and about which time the final numbers will be available. Although there are not too many known details but some things are revealed by the company end.
The 2019 GMC Sierra gets a much needed bolder appearance. In both the Denali and SLT levels the grille is massive and has excellent brightwork. The headlights are C-shaped with LED lights, repeated motif in the rear LED taillights. The new Sierra is heavily differentiated by its Trapezoidal wheel wells. Depending upon the buyer the up to 22 inch wheels can be used.
The pickup truck is about 300 pounds in weight with a aluminium and steel bodywork in which the hood, tailgate and doors are made up of aluminium. Cargo boxes are made up of steel that are roll formed providing double strength than before. The Denali trim variation is upgraded with CarbonPro in which floor and inner bed walls are replaced with carbon fiber which provides more durability.
The improved tailgate in the new Sierra opens in 2 ways that improves utility and includes and assist handle which can be used as a workstation in standing condition.
As announced by the company end the 2019 GMC Sierra is larger inside than before. The truck has best in class front legroom and headroom with 3in stretch in rear legroom. The car offers a much taller seating position with interior storage improvement. The Sierra is made up of high quality interior materials such as “premium leather upholstery”, “dark finish aluminium” and “open pore wood trim”.
The 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 offers 3 different types of engine in which 2 are V8s. Both of the V8s are equipped with Dynamic fuel management technology with cylinder deactivation allowing the truck to use desired number of cylinders depending upon the situation.
The all ne Sierra offers new upgraded versions of engines that include a 6.2 litre V8 engine that comes with a 10 speed automatic transmission and a 5.3 litre V8 engine that comes with 8 speed transmission. The all new engine consists of a 3 litre turbocharged 6 cylinder diesel engine as defined by the San Diego GMC dealership.
The new Sierra provides a 8 inch touch display with “IntelliLink” infotainment system with a 4G LTE connectivity with Wi-Fi hotspot. There are several cameras including rear view camera and a surround view camera making it easier for the driver while connecting the truck to a trailer.
